Kilim Clutch - Cristal

Our clutch bag is part of the slow fashion movement, because it's made from upcycled fabric. It's personalised with a rhinestone jewel, sewn in our Paris workshop to give it even more style.

It's eco-responsible because it's made from a vintage Berber Kilim cushion that we've given a second life. The Kilims are sourced in Morocco and then assembled in our workshop in Marrakech by an association of Moroccan women with disabilities.

These incredibly patterned fabrics, woven by women in the Moroccan High Atlas, each tell their own story. We wanted to give them a second life by transforming them into bags, pouches or pencil cases. They are all unique and represent the memory and identity of the people who weave them. Each tribe has its own patterns, which are a form of symbolic writing inherited from ancient Berber cultures.

Lined with wax-printed cotton, our bags are as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside, because every detail counts for us. This is an easy-care bag. You can remove stains with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash and avoid drying it in the sun to preserve its colours. Due to the totally handmade nature of this clutch, and unlike mass-produced bags, its imperfections and colour variations are part of its history and add to its uniqueness, beauty and value.
